About the role: We are looking for a senior engineer to take significant ownership in growing usage of Monte Carlo's cloud application for Data Observability. The Growth Engineering team is focused on onboarding new users and customers so that they get the full value of MC in their organizations. The role will involve end-to-end development: full production implementation, monitoring & tracking outcomes of experiments, and post-release operations. You will be collaborating with a small team of seasoned engineers, and your work will greatly impact our product and customers. Location: Anywhere in the Americas Here’s what you’ll be doing: - Building production-grade backend services and APIs that support usage of our platform - Helping formulate usability requirements and designs - Owning major projects from inception to deployment, shipping at a rapid pace - Architecting simple yet flexible solutions, and then scaling them as we grow - Testing, and operating your code in production, with measurement of its impact on our customers - Navigate with some ambiguity while solving problems and pursuing solutions to difficult challenges We’re excited about you because: - You have 5+ years of experience delivering production-grade backend code, performing code reviews, and working on cloud, data, and web applications - You have strong Python skills or mastery of similar backend technologies in a large, complex codebase - You test your work (with automation) and follow traffic as customers use your features - You tech-lead critical projects or initiatives within your team and organization - You have experience in some of: - Growth engineering: building software products that drive adoption and usage - Data-driven applications - Serverless applications, especially with AWS and Lambda - The needs of data engineers and analytics teams, such as with Snowflake, Databricks, Airflow, dbt, or many similar tools (our customers) - Observability - a love of software APMs, debugging tools, and uptime metrics - Billing and payments - business applications - You collaborate with your team in a remote-first environment - You get your urgency from user feedback and product vision - You're pragmatic and biased towards action; you're able to see the bigger picture and reason about prioritization and scope Additional Information: This role will receive a competitive salary, benefits, and equity package. The salary is only for US-based employees and will be aligned with the range below. $180,000 - 230,000/year Various factors, including a candidate’s professional background and experience, are considered when determining compensation. About the role: Monte Carlo is growing its Customer Success team. In this role, you’ll quarterback the relationship with Monte Carlo’s most significant and most strategic customers to help them bring trust to their data. This includes planning and executing enterprise rollouts, navigating stakeholders and executives, defining and sharing best practices, quantifying and articulating value, nurturing expansion opportunities, and collaborating across product, engineering, sales, and marketing. Monte Carlo believes deeply in Customer Success. Our CEO and co-founder, Barr Moses, was VP of Customer Operations at Gainsight, the Customer Success company. Our first company value is Customer Impact. This will be a fully remote role located anywhere in the US. Here’s what you’ll be doing: - Lead and manage the entire client journey from onboarding to adoption and value realization. - Partner with Account Executives to build growth strategies for your book of business and work with them to secure successful renewals and expansions - Plan and deliver value-based business reviews with client executives - Partner with customers to establish clear business goals, timelines, priorities, and success metrics. - Leverage your Monte Carlo product expertise to prescribe best practices to grow adoption and enhance the value driven from Monte Carlo. - Identify and develop relationships with client executives that include VPs, C-suite officers, founders, and CEOs - Regularly monitor account health and adoption to find opportunities to help customers acquire maximum value from Monte Carlo. - Project manage the customer journey using internal and external resources as needed. We’re excited about you because you have: - 3+ years of experience in Customer Success serving enterprises or consulting for large enterprise clients (e.g. Bain, BCG, McKinsey, etc.). - Delivering success for data products is highly preferred. - Demonstrated track record in an early-stage company, startup, or highly ambiguous environment. - Project and stakeholder management skills to orchestrate large-scale rollouts and manage through enterprise political dynamics. - Ability to prioritize complex and competing objectives. - Experience with tools such as : SQL, Looker, DBT, Databricks, Airtable, ETL concepts #LI-REMOTE #BI-REMOTE Come As You Are Equality is a core tenet of Monte Carlo's culture.
